At The Boys’ Brigade, we’re committed to helping children and young people grow into confident, caring, and responsible members of their community. Through fun, friendship, adventure, and faith, our programmes support young people at every stage of their development.
How our programme works
Our age-specific sections are designed to meet the needs of children as they grow:
- Anchors (Reception–Year 3)
- Juniors (Years 4–6)
- Company (Years 7–9)
- Seniors (Years 10–13)
Each section offers a balanced programme of games, sports, creative activities, outdoor adventures, community projects, and opportunities to explore the Christian faith. Along the way, young people build confidence, learn new skills, make lasting friendships, and develop strong personal values.

A safe and supportive environment
Your child’s safety and wellbeing are our highest priority. Every Company is led by trained volunteers who are committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive, and inspiring environment.
Our leaders receive ongoing training in areas including:
- Safeguarding and child protection
- Health and safety
- Leadership and youth development
- Programme planning and activity delivery
Training is continuous, ensuring our volunteers remain equipped to support young people to the highest standard.
Safe from Harm
All leaders complete a thorough recruitment and registration process, including an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Safeguarding training is mandatory for all Officers and leaders, helping us maintain a safe environment where every child can thrive.
Who can join?
The Boys’ Brigade welcomes boys aged 5–18 from all faiths and backgrounds. Three of our Companies also have an integrated Girls’ Association, welcoming girls aged 5–18.
